We are relying on donations to stay afloat through COVID-19 restrictions, fund our scholarship program and recoup from our recent expansion. Thank you for considering contributing and for being a part of our family.
“It is possible the next Buddha will not take the form of an individual. The next Buddha may take the form of a community. A community practicing understanding and loving kindness, a community practicing mindful living. It may be the most important thing we can do for the survival of the Earth.” ~ Thich Nhat Hahn
Hello everyone ~ We are entering the 11th year of our Homeschool Program and have attracted a lovely group of families and a number of gifted support staff to create a most dynamic, enlivening, and rich social context.
Speaking with a prospective family the other day, I realized how international we have become with families/children from: France, Israel, Japan, China, Mexico, Switzerland, Java, Kazakhstan, Brazil, just to name a few.
Most noteworthy is the community of children and parents we have cultivated. They are enthusiastic, fun, generous, kind, sensitive, expressive, thoughtful ~ I could go on and on……
My goal is to create a place where children may come and feel safe and rest into peace that feels alive and dynamic as evidenced by their willingness to try new things and express themselves.
It is always painful to meet a family that feels like a ‘fit’ and not be able to enroll them due to financial limitations. So far I have been able to help one or two at the most each year given the size of our staff and on-going needs to keep the Program vital.
This is the first letter of this kind I have ever written and I am hoping that we are successful in establishing a Scholarship Fund for students. I see the fund holding as much as we need each year to support the amazing and wonderful children that want to be part of our Program.
